This is a brand that we are not particularly familiar with so we were thrilled to receive a sample box in the mail. For anyone else who’s not familiar with Yves Rocher, here’s a quick recap of what they’re all about (from HAPPI magazine.)

Yves Rocher is a family owned company that sells approximately $1.4 billion worth of products per year in 80 countries. Their primary products include skin care, cosmetics and perfume which are marketed under a variety of brand names including Yves Rocher, Dr. Pierre Ricaud, Stanhome, Kiotis and Daniel Jouvance.

For a relatively small company they have an R&D department that produces a decent number of patents. For example the Hydro Vegetal body wash that we received contains a patented beet extract that supposedly protects skin from extremes of temperature and UV radiation. We would LOVE to understand how this technology works but we couldn’t track down the actual patent number to get the details. If anyone from Yves Rocher happens to read this, please let us know so we can look into it further.

Even though the Beauty Brains don't do traditional reviews, from time to time we like to share new products that we're trying. We want you to know that we received free samples in exchange for a mention on our blog and that we're not necessarily recommending you buy anything. We're just sharing new product news; please do your own research before you buy.
