Shaving Tips – What You Are Doing Wrong
There are a lot of men he think they can shave the right way. But there may be something that is being done wrong. There are certain principles to remember when you want to learn how to shave male beards or stubbles the correct way.
Do not Shave Against the Grain
This is one of the easiest mistakes men make while shaving. Notice that hair grows towards a common direction. They are all facing one direction. Most of the time, facial hair grows downwards. Some differences can be noticed. Some facial hair grows downwards but is slightly tilted to the left or to the right. The common mistake here is that it seems easier to shave upwards because the blade will be able to catch hair easier. But you risk damaging your skin and your hair especially if the hair has already grown quite a bit (even if it is still just a little stubble). The hair could also tangle up while shaving this way. Remember to shave with the grain to avoid this. If you really must have a close shave, shave along with the grain then go against it only after that.
Use Warm Water
Here again is another small detail that is easy to forget when you are shaving. Some men might think that using lukewarm water for shaving is not necessary and is only done for comfort. You are dead wrong if you think this. There isn’t any drawback when you use cold water per se, but there is a lot to gain when using warm water because it helps to open the pores and makes for a smoother shave.
Replace Blades
Most men, like me, want to save money. That’s why we don’t change blades that often. Heck, it’s not even about saving money. It just seems like such a waste to throw away your blade after less than a week of using it. Doesn’t it? Steel is supposed to last, blades aren’t like tissue paper you just sneeze on and throw away. But apparently, they are pretty close. Blades should just be used up to five times before they are replaced. If not, you might get nicks and imperceptible scratches on your face.
Now just remember that all of these tips are for the good of your face. Your face is very sensitive, and shaving is not as safe as wiping. It involves a blade and it inevitably scrapes the skin. Don’t you think it is in your best interest to make your shaving less dangerous to your facial skin? If you do not follow these tips on how to shave the male beard properly, then your face will suffer. It will all show in a few years when the accumulated wear and tear shows as rough, bumpy, and ugly facial skin.
